A man who has been reported missing, is said to have travelled from Glasgow to Aberdeen last week, reports have stated.
24-year-old Umar Kahn who hails from England allegedly travelled in a Flixbus service on 23 August which arrived at its destination at 2.50pm.
The police have been actively searching for the man who is assumed to have gone to Cove, a suburb located in the south-east of Aberdeen.
They have said that the young man was spotted in the area two days after his arrival around the Torry to Cove coast road and path, near Doonies Farm, at around 2pm.
The police have now urged people who had taken the same bus as Kahn to come forward and provide details to help with the tracing and search.
Inspector George Nixon of Police Scotland said, “Extensive searches are ongoing to find Umar who has links to both Leicester and London but no known connections in the Aberdeenshire area. Concern for his welfare is increasing.
“I would ask anyone who was on the Flixbus Service from Glasgow that arrived in Aberdeen on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 23 and saw or talked to Umar to get in touch as you may have information that can help with our enquiries.”
Kahn’s physical appearance has been described as that of a slim built man with dark hair. He was wearing a bright hoodie, blue jeans and white trainers. He was also seen carrying a white jacket and a black rucksack.
Inspector Nixon added, “In addition, given that Umar has no known links to the Aberdeenshire area, I am also asking anyone who knows Umar to get in touch. It is vital that we find out if he may have travelled on to another part of Scotland or to England.
“We just want to make sure he is safe and well. Our enquiries to find him are ongoing and officers will be around the coast road area. If you have any information that could assist please speak to them or call us on 101, quoting reference number 1893 of Thursday, August 25.”
