A local home care company celebrated its 10 year anniversary with a special event attended by Anas Sarwar, Leader of the Scottish Labour party, and Donald Macaskill, CEO of Scottish Care. The event marked a successful decade of the home care company which provides support for older people so they can stay independent in their own homes. The company has grown substantially from one office to eight across various locations in Scotland.
Suhail Rehman opened the first office Glasgow North in 2013, when the company began supporting families in the city with older loved ones, before expanding to a further seven offices: Glasgow South, Stirling & Falkirk, Perthshire, South Ayrshire & Kilmarnock, North Lanarkshire & Glasgow East, Aberdeen, and East Lothian and Midlothian. Collectively, the company employs over 500 people and supports around 500 clients.
The anniversary celebration brought together over 150 people who have been part of the Home Instead journey over the past 10 years, including former employees, current employees, clients, and their families.
Anas Sarwar and Donald Macaskill were full of praise for the home care company and shared their own experiences with older loved ones receiving care, and thanked Home Instead for their contribution to the social care available in Scotland.
Suhail Rehman, owner of Home Instead Glasgow North, says: “What a decade it’s been! It has been an honour for thousands of families to put their trust in us and it has been a privilege to support their older loved ones. We believe that nobody should have to move out of the home they love as their care needs change.
“I want to thank everyone who has supported us throughout this sometimes challenging yet rewarding decade. And I want to give a special shout out to all of our care professionals, past and present, who have helped make our clients comfortable, happy and safe at home. I promise you that every minute of your hard work is much appreciated.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better event to mark the past 10 years in style! It was heartwarming to see so many people attend from across the Home Instead family and to share our story with Anas and Donald.”
Home Instead provides care, including companionship, personal care, such as help with dressing and bathing, home help, and specialist dementia care, which is delivered by the company’s compassionate care professionals.
