ReelN Ltd unveils ‘Bollywood & Beyond Film Club Summer line up

ReelN Ltd is delighted to unveil the next edition of the Bollywood & Beyond Film Club, a popcinema style concept supported by Film Hub South East across various venues from May until June.
The line-up consists of Manisha Koirala starrer comedy-drama India Sweets And Spices (10th May) and a 20th Anniversary special of Gurinder Chadha’s rom-com Bride And Prejudice featuring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (17th May) as part of the Baldock Festival at Baldock Arts and Heritage Centre.
Award-winning Mira Nair film, The Namesake with the Late Irrfan Khan, Kal Penn and Tabu screens as part of the Letchworth Festival on 23rd June at Letchworth’s The Settlement. The festival also packs a special programme celebrating 40 Years in Film of Bollywood superstar Madhuri Dixit-Nene.
This entails popular Film Journalist Anuj Radia and Kathak dancer Ragini Madan taking audiences through her film and dance journey with live dance performances. This will be followed by a screening of iconic Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum-opus, Devdas.
The event takes place at St Christopher’s School Auditorium on 16th June. Aman Dhillon, Founder of ReelN Ltd says: “We are delighted to continue to offer films with a South Asian connect to North Hertfordshire audiences, showcasing titles that would not ordinarily be available to watch on the big screen with wrap around activity.
Our Bollywood and Beyond film club programme has been supported with funding from Film Hub South East to date, with the next few screenings also in collaboration with the upcoming Baldock and Letchworth festivals. We hope to continue our programme and develop our audience number further.”
Separate to the festival highlights, the Bollywood & Beyond Film Club also has an exciting event for its younger cinema enthusiasts. Coinciding with the half-term school holidays, a morning screening of the live-action Disney’s The Jungle Book in addition to a fun arts and activity takes place on 28th May at The Arcade, Letchworth Garden City.
The company provides film, arts programming, consultancy and event management services including PR. Dhillon has a wealth of experience in leading high quality educational and entertainment events from grassroots to events at BAFTA, BFI and the House of Lords with a particular focus on South Asia.
After managing the UK Asian Film Festival for a few years and since 2021 she has programmed a number of festivals, managed the DESIblitz Literature festival, the official South Asian Heritage Month film festival at SOAS, and to highlight social awareness. Aman works with independent cinemas and more recently joined the BFI Film Hub North as a consultant advising on South Asian film programming, wraparound activity and audience development.
Based in North Hertfordshire we have set up a community cinema and children’s film club. She is the ED&I consultant for Letchworth arts and leisure group and involved in many local committees developing arts, heritage and culture initiatives. She is also a jury member for Bradford Council’s large grants apps. Film Hub South East Film Hub South East is part of the BFI Film Audience Network (FAN). The BFI Film Audience Network reaches out across the UK to ensure people have the maximum possible opportunity to watch and enjoy a broad screen culture, regardless of location or circumstance.
FAN’s aims are twofold: To develop a larger, more diverse, confident and sustainable audience for a wider range of independent British and international film, with a primary focus on the collective viewing experience.
They also aim to create a stronger, more connected and confident sector for the distribution and exhibition of independent British and international film.
The organisation works with cinemas, film festivals, film societies and community groups across the region to support a thriving and inclusive film exhibition sector. It covers Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, Surrey and Sussex.
