British Pakistani actress Zoha Rahman, who has made a name for herself in the industry through her work, has achieved a major milestone in her career.
Rahman’s latest short film, Eid Mubarak, has been acquired by Disney’s Creator+ for their ‘Flip the Script’ Short Film Fund. This will put the film on prominent international platforms and be seen by a wider audience.
Eid Mubarak is a live-action short film directed by Mahnoor Euceph. The plot revolves around the real story of Euceph’s childhood experiences. The objective behind the film was to allow the viewers in the Western world to experience what it’s like to be a Muslim and create a bridge across cultures.
The film not only features actors from across the world but also shines the spotlight Pakistani artisans, whose hard work often gets ignored in the mainstream media and the society.
The film was shot in Karachi, Pakistan over the course of five days and is set to premiere at the Children’s Film Festival in Seattle in February 2023.
Rahman, who features in the film, is known for her pathbreaking hijab-wearing role in Marvel universe’s ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’. She has also featured in Netflix’s Young Wallander and Apple TV’s Foundation along with many big-budget Bollywood films such as ’83 and will be seen in the upcoming film Lord Curzon Ki Haveli.
