London couple left devastated after the death of her new-born baby

London woman Saima Tasnim was left heartbroken and devastated after her baby died due to “gross negligence” by the Royal London Hospital. Tasnim and her husband had told the hospital staff that something was wrong as she was suffering from a lot of pain while in labour, but their concerns were completely ignored.
Tasnim said that she was covered in blood and in a lot of pain on a hospital bed, after which a senior midwife arrived to clean her up. She was allegedly not helped until the staff could not detect the baby’s heartbeat.
Enamul Haque Rohel, Tasnim’s husband said, “It’s my second baby, [I knew] it shouldn’t take that long. They completely ignored my concern, although I raised this concern several times. They said ‘oh that’s normal, that’s normal, it’s going to be happening soon.” He had been concerned as her water broke at 5am and she had been in pain until 3pm the next day and he knew that it should not take that long for her to deliver the baby.
Both the mother and father were devastated at the news of their child not surviving and are in mourning. Meanwhile, Barts Health NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said that they are sympathetic towards the couple because of what they went through and have referred the case to the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch for review.
