‘He’s not even in the dating game’: Zayn Malik’s mother Trisha reveals her superstar son’s current priorities in life

Singer Zayn Malik is happily single, his mother has revealed in a recent interview with MailOnline.
Malik’s mother, Trisha, has stated that her son is currently focusing on taking care of his two-year-old daughter, whom he shares with his ex girlfriend, Gigi Hadid.
Trisha added that the former member of One Direction is channelling his efforts into being a devoted father following his split with Hadid, 28, in 2021.
Malik, 30, recently made headlines when rumours about his alleged romance with popstar and businesswoman Selena Gomez started circulating. However, according to reports, their romance ended in July after Gomez unfollowed him along with Gigi, Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa and Zendaya.
Before this, he dated Hadid, with whom he had split up in 2018 and then rekindled the relationship, eventually welcoming their daughter Khai who will turn three next month.
Both the celebrities are co-parenting their child and Trisha has said that Malik is not interested in pursuing a relationship as of now.
“Zayn’s energies are focused on being a good dad to Khai and his work and that’s not going to change any time soon,” she told MailOnline. “He’s a wonderful father, very caring and loving and devotes a lot of time to his daughter. It’s what gives him the most pleasure in life.”
“He’s a good-looking lad and a lot of women are interested in him but none of that interests him at the moment. He’s not even in the dating game. It’s all about Khai and then his work,” she added.
She did not hold back in revealing how fond she is of Hadid, mentioning that the supermodel was a ‘great girl’ who used to visit their home in Bradford and it was ‘strange having a supermodel in the house’.
Malik’s mother expressed her enduring affection for his ex-girlfriend, noting her regret that their relationship had to end.
She disclosed her upcoming trip to Los Angeles to join her son in celebrating their daughter’s third birthday. Despite the geographical distance, Trisha revealed that she remains closely connected to her granddaughter through frequent video calls, maintaining a strong and delightful bond. She added that the young child immediately recognises her during these calls.
She openly acknowledged the feeling of longing for her son and granddaughter, elaborating that Malik is leading his independent life in the United States and enjoying his roles as both a father and a single individual. The musician had returned home 18 months earlier, to take care of his mother who was going through some health issues.
“I was quite poorly back then because I’ve had heart problems. It’s a hereditary thing that runs through my family. But I’ve made a good recovery since I’ve had the stents,” she told MailOnline. “Zayn’s a great son who’s taken good care of us. We’re a very tight family and don’t like to make a big fuss about his fame.”
