A fundraiser organised by popular Manchester restaurant Haute Dolci, saw motivational speaker and former Bollywood actress Sana Khan as its chief guest.
The event was held to raise funds for the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria at Manchester’s thriving Curry Mile.
Khan, who was born in Mumbai, India, spoke to over 100 guests present at the event and helped raise £40,000.
All the proceeds from the event were donated to Salaam Charity, an organisation that works towards providing support and aid to vulnerable communities. Representatives from the charity were also present at the fundraiser to inform the attendees about how the donations will be used to help those who need them.
A spokesperson for Haute Dolci Manchester said, “We aimed to raise as much money as possible on the night and greatly appreciated our guests’ support by sharing the event with friends and family, encouraging them to donate generously.
“A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event.”
Khan, who relinquished her celebrity lifestyle, has acted in several films across five languages and is well-known for her stint in Bigg Boss Season 6, which aired in 2012. In 2020, Khan told her fans and followers about her decision to quit her work in the industry as she wanted to focus on ‘serving humanity’.
Earlier last month the 34-year-old, who has 5.5 million followers on Instagram, visited Blackburn and spoke at a women’s only event organised by a mosque.
