The new Huma Foods store located off Whalley Old Road was packed with shoppers ahead of the month of Ramadan. The store has fresh fruit and vegetables and a dedicated halal butchers inside, plus a vast array of tinned goods and other food staples.
The interior of the store has been renovated and features household items and a large variety of foods from around the world.

The opening day was very busy and we had long queues inside. It was great to have so many people turn out. With it being Ramadan soon people are stocking up on all their essentials for the holy month.”
The business has created 14 new jobs in full and part-time roles. The opening day launch saw the store put on a host of offers, and also featured a stall by Fazila Foods.
Mr Khan hails from Spain and moved to the area two years ago. He said he took over the 11,000 square foot location in December and worked round the clock to open within three months.
He added: “There was a lot of work to do inside and we have completely renovated it. It needed a lot of work on it.
We are delighted to have opened just before the month of Ramadan. This was my first cash and carry. We will be open seven days a week from 8.30am until 8pm.”
